Earth Imagesby William KingThe Bush image (green) is inspired by the green valleys of trees. The painting seeks to capture the variety of trees and bush land making up the Australian landscape. Most people find an innate comfort and connection to their surroundings, when out in the bush. The Earth image (ochre) is inspired by the vast variety of soils which make up the Australian landscape. The painting seeks to capture the richness of the endless horizons, mountains, valleys and gorges. The Fire image (yellow) is inspired by the dance of flames. This painting seeks to capture the bright warm colours of fire. The Water image (blue) is inspired by the deep blue waters of the ocean. The painting seeks to capture the mesmerising movement of the ocean as it rises and falls. The Cloud image (grey) is inspired by the water filled rain clouds of Australia. The painting seeks to capture the rich, strong grey colours of clouds filling the horizon during the northern wet seasons. |
ArtistWilliam King was born in Katherine (Northern Territory) in 1966. From a young age, William King expressed an interest in art and his grandfather, a member of the Gurindji tribe was his teacher and mentor who told him stories about the desert. This knowledge was invaluable as his grandfather had travelled many miles mustering across the country and had a kinship to the land he knew so well. In 1993, William King was selected as an emerging artist to exhibit in the Gallery of Greater Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. His paintings are showing in many private Galleries within Australia and overseas. William King authenticates his paintings with a hand print and signature. |
