Goannaby Sharon Williams
This beautifully crafted goanna sculpture is made with fibre glass and decorated using acrylic paint in a dot work pattern typical of the Keringke style from Santa Teresa. Goanna's are an important food source for Aboriginal people and in Central Australia are a totemic spirit. There are Dreamtime stories involving the Goanna which are important for Aboriginal culture and spirituality.
