BiographyPatricia Jackson Napanangka was born in 1983 and comes from Kintore Community in the Western Desert of Central Australia. Patricia is a Pintupi woman and comes from a family full of talented and well respected artists. She is the granddaughter of Papunya Tula Artist Walangkura Napanangka. Central Art has the privilege of featuring Patricia's artwork along with Walangkura's.
Patricia began painting with the support and assistance of her grandmother, she started out completing background dotting on paintings. In 2009 she began painting her own artworks. She is a young woman an artist beginning her artistic and cultural journey. Her artworks feature the traditional stories about her country, she uses contemporary styles with often vibrant and bold linear designs, circles and fine dot work. She will often title her artworks "My Grandmother's Country" and they detail important cultural and spiritual messages regarding the traditional women's ceremonies which occur. |
