BiographyMelissa Napangardi Williams comes from Yuendumu Community approximately 300km from Alice Springs in Central Australia. She is the daughter of Alice Napurrurla Nelson and Warren Japanangka Williams. Melissa has been working closely with Warlukurlangu Artist, a local Aboriginal art centre based in Yuendumu since 2004. Her paintings depict the various Dreamings that have been passed down to her. From her father she paints Bush Tomato Dreaming, Bush Potato Dreaming and Bush Banana Dreaming. From her mother she paints Goanna Dreaming. Melissa uses a variety of different colours with a modern interpretation of traditional iconography and symbols.
