Lola Nampijinpa Brown

BiographyLola Nampijinpa Brown was born in Ti Tree in Central Australia. As a young girl her parents relocated the family in Willowra and later to Mount Allan near Yuendumu Community approximately 300km from Alice Springs in Central Australia. Lola was married for 25 years and has 7 children and 11 grandchildren. She has always been involved in arts and crafts, making music sticks, necklaces, coolamons and beads. While living at Mount Allan she was an active member of the Museum, sadly when this closed she decided to relocate to Yuendumu in 2002. It was here that she began to work with Warlukurlangu Art Centre, a local art centre based in Yuendumu which works with Willowra and Mount Allan Communities. |
