BiographyJillian Nampijinpa Brown was born in 1975 and comes from Yuendumu Community approximately 300km from Alice Springs in Central Australia. She grew up in Yuendumu attending the local school and then high school at a boarding school in Alice Springs. She returned to Yuendumu and worked in the local child care centre before beginning to paint for Warlukurlangu Artists full time in 1999. She paints her father's Dreamings which relate to her country, the land, it's features including plants and animals. These Dreamings have been passed down through her father's side of the family for generations. |
